However. I did have a *fabulous* time, and I did take TONS of pictures.

Knitting? Didn't even bring it (I knew the only time I worked on it would be on the plane, and the only thing I could work on is a) my gloves with the super-sharp needles or b) start on some socks, that would also have sharp needles and I was afraid of having them carted off by the TSA nazis. Flying was way more fun before 9/11).

Cooking? Rach and Trent were in the middle of tiling their floor, so the stove was.... in the garage. Along with a toilet. So, we didn't cook. However!!! I got several new (yummy) Mexican recipes that I can't wait to try! Actually, I can't wait to unpack them! Mmmm, ok, maybe not that....

But! But!! But!!! I did get to have lots and lots of cuddle time with my new best friend, the rather slobbery but oh-so-adorable Annalisa.

And this was my first time being West of the Mississippi for more than 24 hours, and I got to experience the true desert. I'm talking air so dry my skin peeled. I'm talking I didn't wash my face after the first time because my skin was so dry. I'm talking so dry I didn't have to wash my hair the *entire* time I was there, even though it was hot as an oven.

Lemme tell you, folks, Atlanta and Vegas--VERY different. At first, I wasn't so sure about the whole landscape thing (Okay, your grass is colored ROCKS? Wha....???).

Then, the last day, we went to Red Rock, and Oh. My. God. That was seriously one of the absolute most breathtaking places I've ever been to.

Best of all, I got to spend time with my oldest friend, and her new family.

I got to know Trent better, and hopefully, the next time I see Annalisa, she won't be five yet.

I quite honestly believe, that after being with her for a bit, that she is the cutest, sweetest baby I have ever been around (and I have like 19 cousins, people!!)

Thank you, Rachel and Trent, for letting me crash at your place, and for letting me be a part of your family for a couple of days. It was an unforgettable trip, and I miss y'all already!
